Account Information

When you register, we collect your name, email address, and optionally your educational institution and branch. This is required to provide personalized content and track your progress.

Usage Data

We automatically collect information about how you use the platform: pages visited, features used, search queries, time spent on content, and error logs. This helps us improve the platform.

Uploaded Content

If you upload files to use with the AI assistant (PDFs, images), those files are temporarily processed and not permanently stored beyond the session unless you explicitly save them.

Authentication Data

We use NextAuth for authentication. If you sign in with Google or another provider, we receive your basic profile information (name, email, profile picture) from that provider.

Cookies and Session Data

We use cookies for authentication sessions, user preferences (dark/light mode), and analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser, but some features may not work correctly.

Platform Functionality

To authenticate you, save your preferences, track learning progress, and personalize content recommendations.

AI Assistant

Your messages to the AI assistant are processed to generate responses. We may analyze anonymized patterns to improve assistant quality, but individual conversations are not shared.

Analytics

We use aggregated, anonymized usage data to understand which features are popular, identify bugs, and plan improvements. We do not analyze individual user behavior for commercial purposes.

Communication

We may send transactional emails (account verification, password reset). We will only send promotional emails if you have explicitly opted in.

No Data Sales

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for commercial purposes. Your data is not a product.

No Financial Data

Payment processing is handled by Razorpay/Stripe. We do not store your card number, CVV, or banking information on our servers.

No Sensitive Data

We do not collect government ID numbers, biometric data, health information, or any sensitive personal data.

Service Providers

We share data with trusted service providers who help run the platform: cloud hosting (Vercel), database services, email delivery, and analytics tools. All providers are contractually bound to protect your data.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or government authority, or to protect the rights and safety of WohoTech users.

Business Transfers

If WohoTech is acquired or merged, user data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify users before this happens.

Technical Measures

We use HTTPS encryption for all data transmission, hashed passwords (bcrypt), secure session tokens, and regular security audits.

Access Controls

Only authorized team members can access user data, and only when necessary for support or maintenance.

No Absolute Guarantee

While we take security seriously, no internet service can guarantee 100% security. If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, contact us immediately.

Access

You can request a copy of the data we hold about you by emailing hello@wohotech.in.

Correction

You can update your profile information directly in account settings or by contacting us.

Deletion

You can request deletion of your account and associated data. We will process this within 30 days. Some data may be retained for legal compliance.

Opt-Out

You can opt out of promotional communications at any time using the unsubscribe link in emails or by contacting us.

Essential Cookies

Required for authentication and basic functionality. Cannot be disabled without breaking the platform.

Analytics Cookies

Used by Google Analytics to understand platform usage. You can opt out using browser settings or a privacy browser extension.

Preference Cookies

Age Requirement

WohoTech is intended for users aged 16 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify registered users via email for significant changes. The 'Last updated' date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
